“Sonsie” Boston Engagement – Jenna and Mike

It’s been a blast working with Jenna and Mike from the first time I met with them – we talked wedding plans and wedding albums over cocktails at The Gallows in the South End – and yes, that’s my idea of a good night!  Needless to say, we hit it off and I couldn’t wait to photograph them! They are such a cute couple and I think it’s safe to say that Jenna has a world class smile! The two of them are just so beautiful and in love. It was so much fun capturing this special time for them against the backdrop of iconic Boston.  Sonsie was where Jenna and Mike went on their first date. And when Mike proposed (and Jenna said YES!), they went to Sonsie to celebrate!  So including this iconic Newbury Street restaurant in their engagement session was a no-brainer. The weather that Saturday was incredibly warm for September, so it felt like everywhere we went, everyone in the whole city was outdoors, soaking in the sunshine, walking in droves down Newbury Street or through the Common.  In their photographs, I wanted to convey that even when surrounded by a crowd, their romance seems to take center stage.  I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding! Congratulations Jenna and Mike!

Soccer Love Sneak Peek! – Black Rock Country Club Wedding

Here’s a sneak peek of Liz and Driton’s Black Rock Country Club wedding (before I head out on vacation for a few days)! It’s one of my favorite wedding venues on the South Shore because not only do they do an awesome job, but it’s such a beautiful location…and I have a small obsession with fescue!  Liz and Driton have to be two of the sweetest, most dedicated people I have ever met – to each other (this was not their first wedding, try third…yes, to each other!), to the sport of soccer, and to the girls they coach – it was really touching to see. Congratulations you two!

Nantasket Beach Family Portrait – Hull, MA

They say once you live by the ocean, it’s hard to leave it behind.  This family travelled all the way from Germany to spend time with family on Nantasket Beach this summer – which has become a family tradition.  Six years ago, I photographed them when they were in Hull on vacation –  their family has changed a lot since then! This time they rented a house by the beach with siblings, cousins, in-laws and the like, to enjoy the sun, the waves and each other.  I can attest to the fact that the South Shore is a very special place to grow up. This Dad grew up in Cohasset like I did and it was fun sharing stories and memories about special places like Sandy Cove, the Cohasset Yacht Club and Bassings Beach.  We talked about how much we love to see our own children enjoying the sand, the fresh air and the ocean like we did when we were kids.  Nantasket Beach, where this photo session took place, is my home now, and I’m so happy to be able to share it with my kids and photograph other families doing the same.  Great job on your photo session you guys! See you next time!

Lindsey is a real talent, and it comes straight from the heart. She has a wonderful young family of her own, which is obvious in the way she connects with both parents and children. All the best to Buchleitner Family, we look forward to seeing you next summer!

Happy Birthday Grandpa! – Hingham Family Portrait

What could be a better gift to a grandfather than to gather all of his children and grandchildren around him for a family portrait?  It’s easy to see this Grandpa has a lot to celebrate – a beautiful family and a lovely home. The littlest ones have been on the blog before. It wasn’t too long ago, but see how much they’ve grown?!  Time flies, no doubt about it, which is why I’m so passionate about celebrating and documenting what’s most important. 😉  Happy Birthday to a lucky man indeed!

Newborn Photography, Quincy – Welcome Baby Ozzy!

Baby Ozzy is born to rock with such cool and creative parents and a shoe collection that only a rock star could handle!! His daddy, a graphic designer, found that adorable dresser at an estate sale and painted it bright yellow just for him. And his mum, a talented hairstylist at Shag in Boston, will no doubt someday give him the “baddest” hair in school.  He is clearly so loved and just so unbelievably cute.  Welcome baby Ozzy and congratulations to you and your family!
